Please visit the Penumbra Foundation’s website! P-SSC Treasurer Sam Dolehas been an educator here for over 10 years and runs the Tintype Studio where he is one of the wetplate portrait photographera. It is a WONDERFUL non-profit institution dedicated to the teaching and preservation of historic photographic processes and is certainly worth a visit if you are in NYC. In addition to Highlight Studio and the Tintype Portrait Studio, there is a brand new gallery space on the 1st floor which has had some monumental shows and exhibitions in the past year, they hold a variety of classes and workshops (both in person and online) a brand new darkroom is about to be unveiled, they hold an impressive variety of open to the public lectures by contemporary photographic artists of all walks, have a beneficial membership program and more!
