READDD- “Collecting Photographica: The Images and Equipment of the First Hundred Years of Photography”

One of my favorite twitter accounts of all time- Pre Cinema History (who has an OUTSTANDING book out which I’m dedicating a post to very soon) posted a book I have previously perused through and I feel it’s a perfect post to debut a new regular posting category- READDD!

READDD is a new blog category that I will be posting to quite regularly, with reading recommendations related to 3D of course!

Collecting Photographica: The Images and Equipment of the First Hundred Years of Photography” by George Gilbert is an excellent pictorial reference with early equipment related to stereophotography throughout.

There is a scanned copy on archive.org (that may require registration to read in full).

New and used copies are available all over the internet for purchase though.

I reccomend Abe Books, a trusted seller who stocks MANY 3D, stereo & holo related titles. They often are the only seller on some many out of print and hard to find titles and have always had excellent prices and reliable shipping. https://www.abebooks.com/9780801514081/Collecting-photographica-images-equipment-first-0801514088/plp

I in fact do not own this book, but really need to pick a copy up for myself now that I’m reminded of it. 100% excellent pick for historic stereophotography buffs and collectors 👌👌👌

Ilicia recommended & PARALLAX-SHIFT approved! Go out and READDD this book online or pick yourself up a copy soon 🙂
