Handbook of Optics, second edition, volumes I, II & III, edited by Michael Bass for McGraw-Hill, Inc. in 1995, are again, older publications but still very relevant references for those seeking to self educate and learn more about optical components, light and the physics of designing optical 3D systems or to learn how the components in 3D systems work.
